About Me: Alexis Barnes, PT, DPT, WCS
I am a Board-Certified Pelvic Health Physical Therapist who emphasizes whole body assessment and treatment in both males and females. I am an avid learner, some may say “perfectionist”, and am always finding new ways to help support my clients!
As I continued treating more pregnant individuals, I realized the power of consistent support along the whole perinatal journey. I became inspired to teach about childbirth with a pelvic focus in order to fill the gap between knowledge, anatomy, and real life application. With this realization and inspiration, I became certified as a Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator so that I could support my pregnant clients before, during, and after delivery. I even started Mommy Wellness classes as I understand how hard it is to find a safe exercise class for both the community and movement without concerns for pain, doing something wrong, or feeling awkward in a transforming body.
Everyone is welcome at Serene.
Serene means “calm, peaceful, and untroubled.” When my second pregnancy brought along some chaos, I started my PLLC to help myself and others find their own “Serene.” What a blessing it is for me to be able to support my clients and help to bring peace along whichever part of your journey I encounter.
When I’m not wearing any of my Serene hats, you can find me enjoying time with my two children, taking a class, being outdoors, eating fun foods, or diving into a great book.
